Here's lookin' at you.

I made another blog! It's Queen Kats from QKD. I love this. It's becoming one of my favorite things to do. Okay, since I've been doing other things and haven't posted any new creations on here, I'll post something else that I think is fun. This is a picture of my dad with some kind of tropical fruit cut in half. He has it on his blog and the caption reads "Here's lookin' at you." Dad, I think you're the best.

QKD Challenge #4

Okay, I finally am posting this card. I have been EXTRA busy. My list is very long. I'm taking on a great new project. But it's still in the works for a while, so I can't reveal it. Anyway, this is my card for the QKD challenge #4. We were challenged to make a spinner card. So this is my spinner. I should have added some more texture, but I have too much on my mind to think about it. So this is it. It will have to do. To see the other design team members cards click on their names below.

THIS is a rare occurance. My boys fight non-stop. They never slow down to get along, let alone get a picture. So on the rare, almost non-existant, occassion that they would let me take a picture, I'm all for it. So I thought I would share this wonderful moment. Man, those are some handsome looking boys.

New Design AGAIN!

Okay, I'm officially addicted to changing my blog's look. I love change. Leave a comment, I want to know what you think. I'll post a project later on today. The blog was my project this morning.

Here is something different. I took a picture of Casey sleeping and traced the lines on tracing paper. I scanned it and cleaned it up. What do you think?

THE MEN

These are the men in my life. I don't know why, but I had the urge to post this. And I often follow my urges.

Aaaww! The little man. Casey is the love of my life right now.(Besides you, Chad) Isn't he just wonderful? I can't get enough of him.

Carter is my sweet heart. He is so kind and generous. He cares about people so much. And he is extremely snuggleable. By the way, I hate this picture of me, I totally look like blow fish or something. My face looks chubby!

Kaiden is "Joe Cool" He is so grown up. We have started to have such a great relationship. It's like I can treat him and talk to him like an adult lately. It's so nice to be able to relate with him finally. He has so much ambition. What an inspiration he is to me.

The other love of my life. Chad. He's going to die when he sees this picture. I had to wrestle him to get a picture of him. He's so stubborn. So Chad if you look at this, it's your fault. Chad is the best. He really is. He accepts the unorganized, unstable, spontanious, addictive person that I am. And I love him for that.

My dad. I just love him so much. He is the funnest dad anyone could ever have. I can recall so many times he has made me laugh. (And so many times as a child that he teased me to tears. [ie., "oh no, Oh no, the steering wheel is stuck, we're going to fall off that cliff, Lindsay, you have to steer I'm going to climb on the hood and see if I can hurry and fix it". Me: *screaming and crying* Dad: *laughing* "Just Kidding"]) Dad, I know your laughing histerically right now. He GAVE me my sense of humor. He is the one who taught me that holding a grudge is absolutley worthless. He gave me laughter, character and happiness. Just look at him! Always on something new. Motorcycles lately. He looks like the guy on Orange County Choppers. Kelsey always says "look there's Grumpa on TV".

Last but certainly not least is my Father in law. I don't have a picture of him right now. But he is the epitome of hard work. He is a strong, humble, kind, generous, hard-working, wonderful man. He was recently diagnosed with cancer. You would never even know it. He stays strong and positive. He doesn't complain or need any pitty. He just stays the strong hold of the family. I admire his courage and strength. I consider him to be my second father.

I love the men in my life. I wanted to share this with everyone. Just because. And, by the way, I was grinning the whole time I was doing this. I must really love these men.

Wednesday

I was recently picked to be a Creative Girl on the blog Creativity Unbound. I am so excited for this. I have only been online with my creations for a couple of months. It just seems like every thing is really taking off. Today is my turn to post a bio about me. I did my first attempt at a digital layout. Go check it out. Click HERE to see my bio and page layout.

Now to show my creation from last night. I did this card for a contest at Caardvarks. The challenge was Black, White, and on more color of your choice.

Going digital!

Not really. I would just miss all that texture on my pages. But I am certainly having fun with all this digital stuff. I can just be addicted to in my little cyber world.

I was chosen to be a Creative Girl on Creativity Unbound. Wednesday is my day to introduce myself. So I decided I would take a go at a digital layout of myself. After all, part of being creative it trying new things. So here is a little peak of my layout. Check the blog at Creativity Unbound tomorrow to see the rest of it.

Just a little side note here. I was told to look at this etsy site. I don't even know this person, but I love ribbon so much I wanted to share this with everyone. These are so cute. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5070035

What do you love?

Here are some pictures, untouched and unedited, of my kids at the Gateway fountains last year. I was just thinking about how I used to take the best pictures. I had the best camera and it just quit working. It makes a big difference when you have a good camera. I am getting it fixed though. So take a look at my fun pictures and then read below them.

You know those blogs that you go on that you just go " Oh I love this blog"? And then after you check it like 10X a week you just finally put it on your favorites list. So what is it that makes you do that? Is it great pictures? Is it great cards, or scrapbook layouts? Is it the "articles" ? Is it a project that the blogger is sharing the how-to's?

What makes YOU decide that you will go back and check what's on that blog again? I want to be that blog. I want to inspire people and keep people coming back. Not because I want to be "the coolest" or a "blogger celebrity". Just because I love the feeling of accomplishment. I love to be acknowledged. What woman doesn't want to be acknowledged and accomplished? I don't know any.

So please leave a comment. Let me know what brings you back to a blog.

Thanks - Lindsay

Something on my mind.

Since I have started blogging, I have had a lot to think about. It's like a journal that is prompting me to remember things, and write them down. Even as I write this I feel my heart swelling up with this strong sense of longing. I have always believed if you have the need to express yourself, then you should. The feelings inside of you shouldn't always stay inside. It helps to get it out, to let others hear your stories and experiences. Maybe someone needs to hear my words, maybe someone else is hurting the way I have. Maybe this feeling and this urge to share this story is for someones benefit. So I will share this small(yet huge to me) story.

In High School I wasn't exactly doing the things that would "lead me in the right direction". I was drinking, and smoking, and doing drugs. I didn't make it to class very often. I was having myself quite a good time. ( I later learned you don't need those things to have a good time.) My best friend was right there along with me. We weren't the best influence on each other. I would try to go to class, but there he was at the door of my classroom with that look on his face. I just couldn't resist. And if I did resist, well he would just decide for me. I didn't care, I just loved him. Not a boyfriend love, a love that you have for your best friend that you will always forever love, even when you don't see each other for years. ( Oh my, these words coming out are making me cry all over again.)

He started to get worse. He was always skipping school and always high. I just hoped he would slow down. He had always been suicidal. He just had something inside him that he fought with all the time. I can recall many times being on the phone with him when he felt this way, and being so scared that he would really do something to himself.

Then one day, one of my friends came to me and asked me if I had heard about Chris. He had ended his own life. He had really finally went through with it. I weeped and weeped for weeks. It was such a hard thing to take, we were Seniors in High School and just about to graduate.

I don't really know how to end this conversation. I guess I need to acknowledge my friend. And say how much I still love and miss him. I look forward to the day I get to wrap my arms around him and tell him how much I missed him. I know God has forgiven him. I know from my own experiences and relationship with God that He has forgiven him. This song ( In the arms of the angels) is the song that brings me comfort. It also makes me sob. I miss you Christopher Brian. I wish you were still here to be my best friend.
