2 Sketches 4 You

Here are a couple cards for the 2 Sketches 4 You sketch. The one with the tree was completely different in my head. I don't really like how it turned out. But if you put forth the effort you might as well show it, right? I like the other one because I have a real love for those buttons with one hole.

Just a cute picture.

I get my new camera this week. It's a Canon Rebel XTi. I can't wait!!!!!!!!! I'm sure I'll be posting tons of pictures.

Caardvarks

I made a card for Kazan's sketch and 1 more for Laura's sketch on Caardvarks. I hope you like them.

I didn't make the DT on 2 Sketches 4 You. But if you look at who made it, you'll see why. The cards they made are amazing. One of them was even crocheted around the edges. Wow!!! There is some seriously amazing talent on there. I'll just try next time, and see if I've upped my game enough.

Memories...You do it too!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you.

(And please be mindful that others read my blog! hehe) ((Sperry!!!))

Caardvarks Challenge

Kazan and Laura of 2 Sketches 4 You are the designers of the sketch challenge at Caardvarks. It's kind of a double challenge. The two of them each drew a sketch. The winner will be the guest designer on August 20th at Caardvarks. I've done one of my cards. It's from the sketch that Laura drew. I used Basic Grey paper, some of my endless stash of ribbon, a rubbon from Cosmo Cricket, and some glitter glue. I'll be posting the other card later this week or next week.

Creativity Unbound and CPS#74

I have this card posted at Creativity Unbound with a small bit about stamping on Canvas. Check it out HERE. Also, I used the sketch at CPS to make this. It's sketch #74. I used my new Martha Stewart Lace Border Punch. I love that thing. I think I'll make another card for the sketch. So check back tomorrow.

I applied for the Design Team on 2 Sketches 4 You. We find out who made it this weekend. So wish me luck! There's so much great talent that I'm up against. But if I don't make it, I'll still be stalking there blog and making too many cards.

2 Sketches 4 You

Okay, you all know I'm totally addicted to 2 Sketches 4 You. So I don't need to say anymore about how I have one more card, because I think I do this almost every week. I really like this card a lot better than the other one I did for this sketch. I realized that my first card didn't really look like the sketch all that much. I stayed up soooo late last night doing some printing for my hubby. He draws house plans, and his plotter (BIG printer) has to be manually fed the paper. Anyway, I made this card for the sketch. I used this recycled pad of 4x6 paper from K&Company that I got from Walmart. To make the little square piece of tinseled paper, I rubbed the whole thing with my versamark, covered it in embossing tinsel and then used the bottom of my SU marker lid to make circles. For the funky flower, I just cut strips of paper and glued them together. I put little silver jump rings and jewels on the ends of the strips. Then I added one of my favorite things to the center. (WE R MEMORY KEEPERS snaps).

CASEY AT THE BAT
When we named our son Casey, we both thought of that name as an old fashioned all American baseball kid name. Probably becuase of the poem Casey At The Bat. In which Casey actually strikes out! But I think that my Casey is going to be an amazing ball player and hopefully have very few strike outs! Judging from his love and determination of the game already(at 17 months old), I think I might be right.

One more for the sketch on Melissa Phillips!

Here's one more card for the sketch on Melissa Phillips blog!(LilyBean's Paperie). I'm only 23 minutes late, I hope it's okay!! It's kind of a silly card. I hope it's obvious what it is.

It's Monday!

It's Monday, so that means a card for 2 Sketches 4 You. I knew right away what I wanted to do with the sketch this week. I've had these little tool charms forever, and love how they turned out with this card. The patterned paper is the Cosmo Cricket Twist and Shout collection. I tried a little trick with the Dad title. On the patterned paper that has circles, I used my stylus tool to trace around the circles. I just put the paper on my mouse pad, and made sure not to press too hard with the stylus tool so I wouldn't rip through the paper. I turned it over and rubbed my old fluid chalk pad lightly across the top. It made the circles I embossed stand out. It turned out quite well.

I decided to post a picture of my cute hubby and sweet baby Casey.
One more thing. I designed my sisters blog for one of her dance competitions. Check it out HERE. Tell me what you think of it.

Check it out!

I've been reading up on HTML. How do you like the new look? I really like this one. That picture on the header is my favorite. It's a pic of mine and my sisters kids. It captures all their personalities so well. Casey is upset because someone other than me is holding him, Kaiden is anxious to be done and move on, Jerrek is just being quiet and sweet, Ty is so happy to be sitting next to "carterkaiden" who is actually Carter, Carter is making a farting noise, Kelsey is posing for the camera with a goofy Kelsey face, Brooklyn is disgusted with the noises Carter is making, and Bo is in a daze on the ground.

As I'm typing this I'm laughing so hard, because I'm realizing that it REALLY, REALLY does show every personality. I love it!

2 Cards and a picture.

I have 2 cards for different sketches. The first one is for 2 Sketches 4 You. I wonder if I'm starting to get annoying over there. I keep entering 2 or 3 cards, but I'm having fun so the more the merrier, right? I drew this little bird for this card. I drew it on some Fancy Pants patterned paper, then used my markers and a white gel pen to highlight it. The friend stamp is one of those dollar stamps.

The second card is for the sketch challenge on Melissa Phillips' blog. I used the Basic Grey paper, that I love so much, for this sketch.

And third, this is a picture of Carter showing me a grasshopper. He loves the bugs! You don't get more boy than this kid.

A Card For Two.

I made this card using one peice of cardstock and several stamps. I wrote about it on my post at Creativity Unbound. I am entering into the challenge at 2 Sketches 4 You. Thanks for looking.

Sketch cards

I don't know if I can tell what these cards are for, so I'll just post them and tell about them later. But don't you love that red flower stamp? Okay, it's not really a stamp. Well, it kind of is. It's one of four flower drawings that one of my best friends drew. I begged her to email it to me, so I could print it out and use it. Isn't it amazing? She draws some really great things. Thanks Tanis! You are so inspirational to me.

2 Sketches 4 You Monday

Here's my card for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge. I love this paper that you can color. I used stickles too. I don't think you can see them too well. I've gotta run, so my post is short.

A digital layout!

We went camping this weekend and I got some great pictures of my kids. When they finally tuckered out I decided to play on the computer a bit. ( Yes, I have a bit of a computer addiction right now.) I made this layout of Kaiden and Carter. How fun is digital scrapbooking? You can do a whole layout without making one bit of mess!! I'm thinking that's fabulous.

2 Sketches 4 You and a Picture.

Here is my card for the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. And a picture of my cute nephew Jerrek, because my little sis requested it. He is so cute. Short and sweet post today. Thanks for looking.

Thanks!!!

So I have a few things to post this morning. First and most important I need to post a cute picture of Kaiden. People might think I don't love him as much as the other 3 of my monkeys. I finally went and took some pictures of him. He is such a joe cool. This is the first time I've taken his pictures that he actually cooperated. I almost didn't know what to do.

Okay, next is that I was chosen as one of the Fab 5 at 2 Sketches 4 You. What an honor. Thank you so much Kazan and Laura. I just love the sketches and have been quite addicted to making cards using their sketches. If you haven't tried their challenges you're missing out. Plus there are some really talented people making cards for the sketches that you can see and use for inspiration.

Third, I was nominated for this award from Anita. Thanks Anita! She also decided to tag me. Gee............... thanks Anita! haha. Just kidding I don't mind, I'm just happy someone likes to read my blog. I'll have to just tag her back when another one comes along. So watch out girl.

So here are the rules:

1. The winner can put the logo on their blog.

2. Link the person you received your award from.

3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.

4. Put links of those blogs on yours.

5. Leave a message on the blog of the person you nominated.

SO here are my nominations for this award:

Tanis

Toni

Kazan

Heidi

Kath

Lea

Peet( I KNOW she has this award, but if you haven't seen her stuff, you really need to take a look. She's brilliant!)

Now for the tag!

Each player answers the questions themselves. At the end of the post the player then tags 4 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment letting them know that they've been tagged and ask them to read you blog. Then you let the person who tagged you know when you posted your answers.

Ten Years Ago:

Let's see... 10 years ago I was sitting in a little tiny apartment with my 2 month old son. I was only 19 and had so much to learn about life and being a mother. Wow! I haven't thought of that for a while. Now I have 4 kids and still have a lot to learn about being a mother. LOL

Five things on todays to-do list:

2. Put away clean laundry

3. Go to store for much needed milk and cereal

4. Take my hubby some lunch while he works on our house.

West Valley, Gusher, Bountiful, and Brigham ( all in Northern Utah)

Fun pictures!

Yes, Kaiden is missing in these. I've been taking them one at a time. It's just too hard to do them all at once. These are just for fun. I'm going to have my friend Laci take our real family pictures. She does an amazing job. But aren't these just so cute?
