2 Sketches 4 You Challenge

This weeks challenge is from Laura. I love scallops lately, so I was excited to see that she used them. I used a paper bag for this card. I wanted to make it a card that can hold a gift card in it. The sponsors at 2S4U are Shortcuts, and they are giving away some great gift card cards. You HAVE to go look at the cards that everyone is making for the challenges, they are amazing. Here is my take on the sketch. The pictures aren't so great, I will change the pcitures later. We are off to the swimming pool. Have a great Monday!

We went up to the campground and took some pictures of Carter and Casey. We're going to take more tomorrow of Kelsey and Kaiden. Here's a picture of Carter I played around with on Photoshop. I'll post some more tomorrow maybe. He is such a little Huck Finn.

Think Pink and a Sketch.

I did another card that I can use for 2 challenges. The sketch is from 2 Sketches 4 You. I love the sketches they come up with, and the cards everyone makes are amazing. And the Think Pink theme is for Caardvarks. There is a new stamp company called Pink Persimmon and they are the ones sponsoring this challenge.I already did a card for this, but one is never enough. I sewed around the edges of this one. I love the way it makes it look so put together.

Products:

Paper:Fancy Pants(Key Lime Pie)

Think of You stamp: Queen Kat Designs

This is a card I did for the challenge at Caardvarks. The theme was Think Pink. Pink Persimmon is a new stamp company and they are sponsoring this challenge. This is what I think of when I think pink. I drew this fairy by hand and dazzled her up. I used the Aged Text background stamp from QKD. I folded a flower in quarters for each wing and put some glitter paint on them. For the wand I just rolled up a piece of paper and colored it black, then added glitter. The star on top the wand is just cut out of white cardstock and piled up with glitter paint. Patterned paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle (delightful). I hope you like her. My daughter sure does.

Another card for 2 Sketches 4 You.

I guess I'm just having too much fun with these sketches. So here's another card for the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. I used patterened paper from We R Memory Keepers(White Out collection). The tag is from those wonderful cardstock die-cuts from Daisyd's, I used the one from the "You Are, Journaling Tags" set. The rub-ons are from Stampin Up and I used some glitter glue on the flowers to add a little bling. I like this one better than the first, just like last time. Hope you like it.

Killing 2 birds with 1 stone?

Well that's the phrase, but I LOVE birds. Hmmm, well, I can't think of another one, so it'll do. I did this card for the Caardvarks micro challenge (Happy Birthday Dude!), and for the sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You. I love the how it turned out. I used some paper I had aged myself. To make it I took regular cardstock and soaked it in some coffee on a cookie sheet. It had some coffee grinds in with it. I then drained the coffee off and left the grinds on the paper, and put it in the oven at a low temp. It baked the coffee grinds right onto the paper. When it was all dry I brushed off the remains of coffee and let it cool. I've had it for a while and haven't known what to use it on. I think it looks great on this card. The card foundation and back piece of brown scrap is Bazzill, and the patterned paper and dino are from Basic Grey(archaic collection). I also used a BG stamp(Ink splat)(it's great for a textured look with the VersaMark Pad) from QKD on the small pieces of paper.
Okay, so I went to do this celebrity look a like thing, and I used the picture of me and Andrea. It wouldn't recognize me in the photo, but it would use Andreas face, so I thought I would just see what it came up with. Andrea, I hate you. You have always been so pretty. Just look at who this thing came up with for you. You suck! ( I really love your guts, and hope you don't mind that I posted this on my blog.) I think Sandra Bullock should have been on there.

One more for the card sketch!

This one is much better! This is another card for the sketch contest at 2 Sketches 4 You. The first one I did didn't turn out that good. I had to redeem myself. I think this one will redeem me, what do you think?

Card Sketch

My friend Tanis told me about this new sketch challenge blog called 2 Sketches 4 You. This is a card I did for the sketch this week. I kind of got a little crazy with the stickles. I think I'll make another one for this sketch.

I love pastels!

I just did this page last night. It's for Kelsey's 5th birthday. I used pastels to color the chipboard and background behind the picture. I am having a lot of fun with these oil pastels.

A little advice.

Want some advice? WEAR SUNSCREEN!!!!!!!!!

Notice on my leg, the little patches of non-sunburned skin. It's from the little bit of sunscreen that got on me while I was putting it on my kids. At least they're not burned. OUCH!!!

On a different note. I did a little digital layout. I wanted to play with the brushes. We have these 3 windows in the Master bedroom of our house we're building. My boys were climbing the wall and sitting in them, and I could see the perfect set up for a picture. It doesn't include Casey, but that's okay.

Happy Birthday Kelsey!

Kelsey is 5 today. She is my little princess. I really mean princess. She's one of those. I love her so much. I'm glad she's my only girl. We have a friendship that means so much to me. At times she's a big handful. She's stubborn, strong headed, and has her mind made up. And then there's the times that she just melts my heart(or hite, as she'd pronounce it). I love you Kelsey. Stay who you are, be strong willed and always know what you want. Happy Birhtday!

Ten things I love about Kelsey
1* She is beautiful
2* She's smart
3* She's a teaser
4* She's my friend
5* She has a big heart and knows how to love
6* She's an aspiring artist
7* She's very forgiving
8* She wants and loves to learn
9* She wants to grow up and be a mom like me
10* She's mine and she knows it

I LOVE IT!!!

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. This is my favorite show ever in the history of television. I just wanted to tell everyone. Just because I love it so much.

Go Raiders!

Even though the Raiders is like one of the worst teams in the NFL, it's Chad and Kaidens favorite team. In our new house, Kaiden's room is going to be football themed. So this is what I made. The picture isn't great quality, it's just from my web cam on my laptop. I was lazy.

I've been wanting to play with oil pastels and I have a cheap set of them from Walmart. So I decided to make something for Kaiden's room. I used a canvas that I had and just started playing. I used a paintbrush and some paint thinner to smooth out the oils. I really like how it turned out. I like how it looks old. I might have a new hobby to add to my list. Great! At least it's just pastels and paper or canvas. Hmmmm I could add more to it though. I could add primas and bling and glitter and ribbon and........
